Jinling Waterproofing Group and Aviation Tian Planning & Design Group Hold Technical Exchange on New Standards for Waterproofing

To promote understanding and application of the new waterproofing standards, grasp waterproofing requirements under the new standards for construction projects, and enhance the quality of building waterproofing. On October 20th, the Jinling Waterproofing Group and the Aviation Tian Planning & Design Group held a technical exchange meeting on waterproofing under the new standards. Both sides conducted in-depth discussions on key changes in the new standards, waterproofing schemes and material applications for construction projects under the new standards, with He Li, head of Jinling’s technical team, and about 10 designers from Aviation Tian attending.

The 'General Code for Waterproofing of Buildings and Municipal Engineering' (GB 55030–2022) has introduced new requirements regarding design service life, waterproofing grades, durability of waterproof materials, number of drainage paths, and minimum thickness of materials. At the meeting, He Li provided an overview of the major revisions in the new standard and discussed waterproofing construction methods, workflow, material selection and combination, as well as application under different sections. The participants explored optimal solutions to achieve the best waterproofing performance in construction projects. He emphasized that

The new standard sets higher requirements for waterproof materials, construction techniques, and quality inspection. To ensure the quality of building waterproofing, we must gain a deeper understanding of the new standard’s content and strictly follow it during design and construction.

In the subsequent discussion session, participants addressed current conditions of building waterproofing, existing issues, and the application of new materials. They jointly explored best practices and effective solutions for waterproofing projects, exchanged insights on challenges encountered in design and construction, and engaged in lively and constructive dialogue.

This technical exchange strengthened collaboration between the Jinling Waterproofing Group and the Aviation Tian Planning & Design Group, injected new momentum into building waterproofing development, and both parties expressed their commitment to further strengthen cooperation, explore innovation and advancement in waterproofing technology, and work together to improve building waterproofing quality, contributing effectively to urban infrastructure development.
