Jinling Waterproofing Group and Zhongdi Communications Bridge & Tunnel Branch Hold Municipal Waterproofing Technology Exchange Meeting

Starting April 1, 2023, the 'Universal Code for Building and Municipal Engineering Waterproofing' (GB 55030–2022) has been officially implemented. The new standard introduces updated requirements regarding the design service life, waterproofing grade, durability of waterproof materials, number of waterproof layers, and minimum thickness of materials for municipal engineering projects.

To promote a deeper understanding and application of the new waterproofing code, enhance compliance with the latest requirements under the new regulatory framework, improve the quality of municipal engineering waterproofing, ensure the safe operation and long-term durability of municipal facilities, and better support urbanization development, Jinling Waterproofing Group and Zhongdi Communications Bridge & Tunnel Branch held a municipal waterproofing technology exchange meeting on the afternoon of September 14. Both parties engaged in detailed discussions on waterproofing methods, construction processes, material selection and integration, and practical applications for municipal bridges, tunnels, and related infrastructure. He Li, technical lead from Jinling Waterproofing Group, along with Director An Shu and approximately 20 design engineers from Zhongdi Communications Bridge & Tunnel Branch, participated in the meeting.

At the beginning of the meeting, He Li provided an overview of Jinling Waterproofing Group, expressing

Bridges and tunnels are critical components of municipal infrastructure, and the quality of their waterproofing directly impacts public safety, living standards, and sustainable urban development. This issue must be given top priority. During the meeting, He Li discussed in detail the waterproofing construction methodologies, workflow procedures, material selection strategies, and application practices for municipal bridges and tunnels, engaging in thorough exchanges with attendees. Emphasis was placed on strengthening technological research and innovation, adopting customized waterproofing solutions based on different project needs, and pursuing optimal performance outcomes for municipal bridge and tunnel waterproofing systems.

In subsequent discussion sessions, participants addressed current challenges in municipal bridge and tunnel waterproofing, explored emerging applications of advanced materials, and examined best practices and effective solutions for improving waterproofing performance. Attendees actively shared insights and perspectives, creating a vibrant and dynamic dialogue. Technical experts from both sides also discussed specific waterproofing challenges encountered in real-world projects and reached a series of valuable consensus points.
