Sichuan Province Engineering Construction Local Standard: Technical Code for Waterproofing in Construction Projects

Approved by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Construction through Document No. 90 [2024] issued on May 24, 2024, the 'Technical Code for Waterproofing in Construction Projects of Sichuan Province' (DBJ51/T 255-2024) is designated as a recommended local standard for engineering construction in Sichuan Province. The primary compiling organization is the Sichuan Provincial Association of Building Waterproofing. This standard took effect on October 1, 2024, and has been officially published.

The 'Technical Code for Waterproofing in Construction Projects of Sichuan Province' (DBJ51/T 255-2024), compiled primarily by the Sichuan Provincial Association of Building Waterproofing with participation from China Building Southwest Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd., Chengdu Municipal Engineering Quality Supervision Station, Chengdu Municipal Architectural Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd., Sichuan Eastfang Rainproof Engineering Co., Ltd., Sichuan Waihui New Materials Co., Ltd., Beixin Waterproof (Chengdu) Co., Ltd., Sichuan Kebao Lake Waterproof Thermal Insulation Energy-Saving Technology Co., Ltd., Sichuan Xinyisan Building Materials Technology Co., Ltd., Sichuan Tianqiang Waterproof Thermal Insulation Materials Co., Ltd., and Sichuan Jinxin Waterproof Engineering Co., Ltd.; and technical support from the Sichuan Provincial Association of Building Waterproofing R&D Center, Shanghai Sanjue Shu Water Proofing Technology Co., Ltd., Zigong Baocheng Waterproof Materials Co., Ltd., Sichuan Provincial Product Quality Supervision Inspection & Testing Institute, and Sichuan Provincial Building Materials Industry Science & Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd.), was developed after extensive research, field surveys, testing, and review of relevant international and domestic advanced standards. It also incorporates comprehensive summaries of current waterproofing practices in Sichuan Province, reflecting broad stakeholder feedback and expert opinions to ensure completeness and practicality.

Main technical content includes: General Principles, Terminology, Basic Provisions, Materials, Design, Construction, Quality Acceptance, Operation and Maintenance, and Leakage Remediation. The implementation of this standard will significantly enhance the quality and technical level of building waterproofing projects in Sichuan Province and play a positive role in promoting high-quality development within the construction industry.
