★ Pre-applied Type Installation

Flat Surface Membrane Installation

• When installing the first layer of membrane, place it on the prepared base according to the marked line, ensuring the smooth side of the high molecular sheet faces downward toward the base, and the rough surface faces upward toward workers. Carefully verify positioning. The adjacent second layer should be offset longitudinally by 80mm. Before lapping, remove any debris between the joint areas to ensure clean, dry, and residue-free surfaces. Align both sheets together and proceed continuously using a roller to press firmly along the lap joint, ensuring a tight, seamless bond. Repeat until the entire flat surface is fully covered.

• The short edge overlap width is 80mm. Use specialized adhesive tape or adhesive-coated tape to secure the short edges. Adjacent layers must be staggered by at least 600mm to prevent overlapping joints and potential weak points.

Vertical Surface Membrane Installation

• When installing vertical membranes, position them on the base of the supporting structure according to the reference lines, ensuring the smooth side of the high molecular sheet faces outward toward the structure, and the rough side faces inward toward the concrete wall. Use mechanical fasteners to secure the membrane to the support wall surface. Steel nails should be placed 5mm outside the edge of the pre-rolled self-adhesive edge. For long edges, install mechanical fasteners every 50mm left and right. During installation, clear any debris from the pre-rolled self-adhesive edge before lapping. Ensure all fastener points are covered by the overlapping edges of adjacent membranes. Immediately roll over the joints with a hand roller to ensure tight sealing.

• For short edges, install mechanical fasteners every 500mm left and right, placing the fasteners 5mm outside the membrane edge. After completing the fastening, seal the short edge joints with specialized adhesive tape or adhesive-coated tape to ensure all fastener points are fully covered by the overlapping edges of the lower membrane.

★ Self-adhesive Type Installation

Wet Laying Method Steps

1. Substrate Preparation: Remove all dirt, debris, and oil residues. Pre-wash the surface if necessary.

2. Prepare Special Adhesive Paste: Mix water:water:rubber powder = 100:40–45:0.5. First add the adhesive into the mixing container, then slowly add water while stirring. Finally, add the water-based slurry and mix thoroughly until homogeneous, without lumps, sediment, or clumping.

3. Determine Application Thickness Based on Substrate Flatness: Adjust thickness accordingly (typically 2–3mm). Apply evenly within the membrane coverage area (avoid excessive spreading or edge overflow).

4. Remove protective film from the membrane bottom → Place the membrane onto the freshly applied slurry → Install the first layer → Then apply slurry again → Install the second layer → Continue sequentially. Ensure horizontal alignment between adjacent layers.

5. Gently brush or roll the membrane surface with a wooden trowel or rubber float to expel trapped air and ensure tight adhesion between the membrane and slurry.

6. Curing & Protection: Allow curing for 24–48 hours (adjust based on ambient temperature; higher temperatures shorten curing time).

7. For vertical installations, temporarily seal the membrane edge with adhesive tape (or use adhesive-coated tape/water-based slurry sealant) to prevent premature water leakage.

8. Lap width must be ≥80mm; use full-body lapping method.

Dry Laying Method Steps

1. Substrate Cleaning: Sweep and clean the surface thoroughly. The base must be level, clean, and dry.

2. Apply Primer: Use a long-handled trowel to evenly spread primer on the prepared surface (or spray), avoiding missed spots or pooling.

3. Add Reinforcement Layer: Prior to laying large-area membrane waterproof layers, apply additional reinforcement at critical details per specifications and design requirements. Use same-material self-adhesive membrane for reinforcement.

4. Mark Reference Lines: On the clean, dry base, mark the reference lines according to the selected membrane width to guide installation.

5. Large-area Installation: Remove the protective film from the membrane → Place the membrane onto the dry base → Lightly roll the surface with a trowel to expel air and achieve tight adhesion. Multiple workers can work simultaneously. Connect adjacent membranes using lap joints with consistent 80mm long and short edge overlaps.

6. Clear debris from the lap joint area → Clean and dry the joint surface → Perform joint treatment (apply adhesive if required) → Ensure firm, sealed connection between two sheets.

Store membranes in well-ventilated, dry, shaded areas protected from rain, sunlight, and moisture. Storage temperature must not exceed 45°C. Different types and sizes must be stored separately. When stacked horizontally, do not exceed 5 layers. When vertically stored, stack one layer at a time. Avoid contact with acids, alkalis, oils, and organic solvents. During transport, prevent dropping or lateral compression; use padding cloth when necessary. Under normal storage conditions, shelf life is at least one year.
